Public Enemy, Fear of a Black Planet (1990)

Flavor Flav and Chuck D made one of the greatest records of all-time, Fear of a Black Planet. It's more relevant now even than it was when it was released in the 1990s.

"9-1-1 Is a Joke" was about how unresponsive police can be when called into black neighborhoods.

"Fear of a Black Planet" is about fear of black people, especially interracial dating and marriage.

"Fight the Power" is about... fighting the power.

Although the phrase "protest song" is often reserved for longhaired hippies, there's no doubt this album is a record of protest songs.

It's good from front to back. I would be very very happy to own this.
