99. Taylor Swift, Red (2012)

Not even a good album, let alone one to be esteemed.

Taylor Swift grew up a millionaire. Her father, I believe, still is a hedge fund manager. She lived in a mansion. This is not the horse girl you knew from high school. This is the cheerleader.

Her sound is generic country pop. I don't understand the appeal. I could never be moved by this music.

Nor, as I've already indicated, do I find Swift fascinating as an artist or personality.

So it goes. There's too much music in the world to let this tepid bath water of an album get me down.
