Echo & the Bunnymen, Heaven Up Here (1981)

I like the band's silly name but the music is a colossal bummer. It's that indistinct morose drone you hear low in the background at a party scene in an 80s movie about young kids being wild and learning how to grow up into adults.

Seems I've heard some people recommend the band, among them the inimitable Tracy Ross, WKMS's wonderful evening DJ. Think I heard him give this band some spins. As soon as I put this on, I started to have vague recollections of that past time.

But nostalgia won't keep me with these folks. No, nostalgia won't.
