PJ Harvey, Stories from the City, Stories from the Sea (2000)

I like it. Here, she's been in the game for some time. Here, she's a seasoned lion.

In my view, PJ Harvey doesn't get the credit she deserves. I have a theory about why this might be so: she does punk rock but she doesn't have a punk-rockers' voice, so she's underappreciated. People don't acknowledge the fact that she does something unique, which is melodious punk.

Weezer has gotten more fanfare, but still their situation is analogous to PJ Harvey's. As Rivers Cuomo sings in "In the Garage," his favorite rock group is Kiss, and therefore what gets underappreciated re Weezer is that they are actually doing hard rock, but they're still different because Rivers doesn't have a hard-rockers' voice.

Return to PJ Harvey, this album feels very personal. You might recognize some of the songs off of it. The hit was "This Is Love."

I'm glad to know you're feeling and doing better. Looking forward to talking soon.
