"On Books" by Michel de Montaigne (essay)
Montaigne's reading habits. He prefers the ancients for their moral instruction. If he reads anything and gets bored, he puts it aside. He often forgets things that he reads, sometimes revisiting the former books and getting surprised to see his notes in it. When Montaigne finishes reading a book, he makes a summary of it and gives his opinion of it.
